Qualification:

- B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering (Mandatory)

- Diploma in Industrial Safety (Mandatory)

Desirable: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent, Industry-recognized HSE certifications

Role Overview

The Engineer Safety - Polyester will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and ensuring compliance with safety policies, standards, and statutory regulations in the Polyester manufacturing operations. The role requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on experience in audits, hazard analysis, and employee training to drive a culture of safety across the plant.

Key Accountabilities

- Ensure up-to-date documentation of safety standards, guidelines, procedures, and training modules.

- Drive deliverables of Network Steering Teams/Subcommittees on safety initiatives.

- Participate in internal and external audits for areas of competency and support plant-wide audits.

- Conduct regular Safety Observations as per targets and analyze findings to implement corrective actions.

- Support and lead Risk Management Programs, including Hazard Identification, Incident Investigation, and control measure implementation.

- Impart safety training to enhance competency of target groups within operations.

- Engage with external industry bodies, trade associations, and global forums to stay updated on best practices.

- Plan and conduct safety promotion programs to enhance awareness and strengthen the safety culture in identified risk areas.

- Strong technical understanding of Polyester operations.

- Proficiency in conducting audits and safety assessments.

- Ability to coach and influence teams to adopt safety practices.

- Analytical and problem-solving abilities with persistence in follow-ups.

- Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

- Strategic understanding of HSE practices and risk management.

- Political and organizational awareness to manage stakeholders effectively.
