Senior Design & Development Engineer - Mechanical

Company : A 35+ Year old and fastest growing manufacturer of quality & testing and calibration systems. Their product vertical has over 200+ models serving clients pan India and international.

Role : Responsible to determine the design requirements, plan and execute the design of machine using AUTOCAD, ANSYS, CREO 9 etc to develop and test prototypes, ensure that design specifications are met with relevant experience in Pneumatics & Servo Hydraulics.

- The Design Engineer is responsible for New Products Development, standardize product, Custom-built project as per customer requirement and Sales Proposal and budgetary costing also to ensuring that the product can be made cost-effective and efficient.

- To be a successful mechanical design engineer, you should be mathematically and mechanically minded and have strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. A top-notch mechanical design engineer should possess detailed knowledge of engineering and design principles and be able to find creative solutions to technical problems.

Typical Tasks Include :

- Meeting with customers, sales team, marketing team and design teams to determine mechanical applications and requirements.

- Conducting research to inform the design and engineering methods required for the mechanical systems.

- Planning and executing mechanical designs using AUTO CAD, ANSYS, and 3DCAD(CREO 9) programs.

- Performing computer simulations and experiments to virtually test and refine the designs.

- Prepare calculations on the proposed machine before completing technical drawings

- Sketch and draw up designs using input from Customer/Marketing requirement and architects

- Calculate factors like tolerance, dimensions, DFMA and structural analysis

- Overseeing the development and manufacturing of physical prototypes for testing.

- Documenting the design process, iterations, and test analytics.

- Create designs and drafting in line with company procedure, regulations and client standards

- Managing project timelines, resources, and budgets.

- Liaising with clients, designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence.

- Preparing technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals.

- Keeping abreast of the latest advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering best practices.

- Use customer feedback and data to upgrade, improve or repair the company's existing machines

- Provide support during the machine assembly and installation process, ensuring that the machine is built properly and according to design specifications

Requirements :

Qualifications for Mechanical Designer :

- A minimum of 6+ years of experience as a Mechanical design engineer

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.

- Strong computer and mathematical skills

- Experience designing industry-specific products

- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in mechanical engineering.

- Proficiency with engineering design programs such as AutoCAD, CREO 3.0, Roadmap ERP, The ability to stay abreast of advancements in technology and engineering design trends.
