Senior Design Engineer - Mechanical (5-12 yrs)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer with strong expertise in the design and engineering of industrial utility systems. The candidate will be responsible for preparing design documentation, system layouts, and specifications for utilities such as HVAC, clean rooms, compressed air systems, cooling water, and others, commonly used in manufacturing and process facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare Design Basis Reports (DBR) outlining the design philosophy, applicable standards, and system requirements for mechanical utility systems.

- Design and develop mechanical utility systems, including:

- HVAC systems

- Clean Rooms

- Compressed Air

- Process Cooling Water

- High Side Water Generation

- Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP)

- Deionized (DI) Water Systems

- Coordination with LV/MV electrical and Emergency Power (DG/UPS) teams

- Provide technical input for AutoCAD drawing preparations; hands-on CAD drawing preparation is a plus.

- Develop piping and equipment layout plans in coordination with process and civil teams.

- Create Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and assist in cost estimation and tender documentation.

- Specify and select appropriate equipment and components based on project requirements and industry standards.

- Coordinate with vendors, procurement, and cross-functional teams for timely delivery and technical compliance.

- Support site execution and commissioning phases as required.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech).

- 5-10 years of experience in mechanical design of industrial utility systems.

- Proficiency in design codes/standards (ASHRAE, ISHRAE, IS codes, etc.).

- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, and familiarity with design tools like SolidWorks, Revit MEP (preferred).

- Strong understanding of industrial system integration across HVAC, piping, water systems, and utilities.

- Ability to work cross-functionally with electrical, civil, and process teams.

- Good communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
