Senior Design Engineer - Rooftop Solar Projects (5-15 yrs)
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years in Design and Engineering within the solar industry
Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (preferred)
Industry Preference: Renewable Energy / Solar Industry
Job Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Senior Design Engineer with hands-on experience in rooftop solar project design. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background, be an individual contributor, and possess practical knowledge of design software and project cost estimation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site survey analysis and interpret reports.
- Prepare detailed BoM (Bill of Materials) and project costing for rooftop solar plants.
- Analyze electricity bills and calculate solar capacity requirements for clients.
- Generate ROI and feasibility reports.
- Perform technical calculations for AC/DC sizing, earthing, and load distribution.
- Create and finalize structural and electrical layouts using tools like AutoCAD, Google SketchUp, PVsyst, etc.
- Draft Scope of Work (SOW) documents for contractors.
- Conduct site visits (if required) to inspect the quality of implementation.
Required Skills & Tools:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, Google SketchUp
- Strong understanding of solar engineering standards and electrical/structural drawings
- Analytical thinker with cost estimation and project budgeting experience
- Excellent team player, confident, and effective communicator
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently
