Purpose of the role (Brief Description)

- To initiate development activities for new items in investment casting process using good practices like MS project etc as per Aerospace industry standards.

- To study customer drawing, related specifications in detail to understand the requirements to create engineering documents.

- To develop new castings with optimum Methoding and sound quality.

- To create shop floor work instructions for every stage suitable to manufacture the castings in line with applicable aerospace specifications.

- To organize and maintain the revision of engineering documents with respect to drawing revision.

- To distribute and maintain amended engineering documents on the shop floor as per distribution list.

- During the development of the castings, collect and review all relevant documents required for FAIR submission.

- To create FAIR Documents as per customer requirements and related specifications.

- Submit the FAIR Documents to the customer along with the samples. Interact with customer to ensure the supplied documents are as per customer requirement.

- To amend and maintain the documents like PFD, PFAMEA, Control plans etc periodically.

Key Deliverable / Major Activities :

New Product Development

- To ensure development the documents of investment castings on time.

- To track the progress of FAIR Documents of casting manufacturing activity.

- Should interact with customer during new product development to understand the requirement & induce these requirements in process with respect to FAIR Documents.

- To prepare the required drawings and documents related to New Product development like procedures/ instructions, PFMEA, Control plan, SPC etc.

- To inspect patterns & castings using different measuring instruments including CMM.

Yield improvement and cost control : 

- Reviewing production process time to time and taking steps to improve yield, cost saving by standardisation of process (de-skilling) if possible and improvement in product quality.

- Implementing actions to enhance yield, cost & quality.

Rejection Control : 

- Analysing in-house rejection, find the root cause, put actions to eliminate the problem.

- Analysing customer rejection, find the root cause, put actions to eliminate the problem.

- Work on a cross-functional project team through all phases of the product development process.
