Senior Engineering Manager - Motor Design - Automotive (10-15 yrs)
We are looking for Senior Engineering Manager Motor Design with one of our automotive MNC client in Shenzhen, China.
Position Summary :
- This position will lead engineering teams in developing application strategies for new projects development, based on customer requirements by collaborating with Business Development/Sales teams and to build team capability to cope with business growth.
Responsibilities :
- Develop application strategy (standardization, DFM/DFA, technology roadmap) on new projects development, and seek buy-ins from all stakeholders on design concepts.
- Drive engineering team members to perform system study and handle feasibility and quotation analysis
- Develop and implement design validation plan and lead production launch
- Work closely with customers to characterize product applications, understand their requirements and create product specifications
- Drive standardization, Value Analysis & Value Engineering (VAVE) and Design For Manufacturing (DFM)/Design For Assembly (DFA) strategy for application
- Drive DFMEA implementation and learn from Cycle-of-Learning (COL) lessons
- Create Quality Function Deployment (QFD) on projects and motivate them to complete them
- Develop schedules and monitor/control industrialization as per our Company's system
- Monitor technical report preparation and documentation control
- Participate in customer meetings, teleconferences and visits
Requirements :
- Master degree or above, major in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Electronics, or related disciplines
- Minimum 10 years of experience required in both motor design and motor control solutions, with strong people management experience.
- Experience in Automotive product development is required
- Knowledge of assembly line manufacturing and components manufacturing processes (such as die casting, injection molding, stamping)
- Good knowledge in mechatronics analysis and simulation
- Experience in customer communication with international customers
- Leadership exposure, both people supervisory and project management, is mandatory
