- 15+ years of experience in product development and manufacturing for complex electromechanical systems and preferably HVAC products and systems.

- 5+ years of experience and demonstrated results leading Engineering Excellence at a major product development site and/or for a specific element of Engineering Excellence

- Direct experience leading product development including analytical studies, prototype development, and evaluation, establishing and measuring cost and performance metrics compared to competitive products, developing business plans, and putting products into products with high launch quality and sustained high quality over time.

- Extensive experience in analyzing data and reaching conclusions, based on both analytical and empirical information.

- Ability to influence across a matrix organization without the benefit of direct reporting relationships. Candidate must be well organized and capable of managing numerous competing priorities. Excellent people skills with the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships across a matrix, multi-cultural organization.

- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline is required. An advanced degree is preferred.

- Strong capability with computers, design and analysis software, and standard MS Office tools.

- Willing to travel 30+%, and support the work outlined above.

- Fluency in English and Mandarin is required. Additional fluency in Japanese desired.

The scope includes :

NPI Quality & Reliability, Engineering Process & Standard and PLM / Windchill implementation. The qualified individual must be self-directing and able to work under virtual supervision (remote supervisor), leading people and projects across all JCH locations.

Principle Duties :

1. NPI Quality & Reliability :

a. As the product quality representative to work with a cross-function team (Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Marketing, and Service) in the NPI project to provide comprehensive and accurate assessment and characterization of design risks, which includes both the appropriate mitigation activities and proper identification in downstream design outputs (DFMEA, critical characteristics and significant characteristics on specifications, Risk Assessments for issues impacting product, etc.).

b. Buildup / Renew NPI Quality process and tool, integrated with Product Development Process RCLP (Rapid Close Loop Process)

c. Join major NPI projects, surveilling product quality, partnering with Quality function

d. Lead NPI quality audit which reviews the engineering deliverables in each phase, supervises the compliance of the engineering process, and checks the fulfillment of product requirements

2. Engineering Process & Standard :

a. Engineering Process standardization: Ensure GED work as an integrated team and interface with Operation systematically

b. Leading Design Standard globalization and making sure it's up to date

c. Conduct regular process audit to ensure disciplined execution

3. Engineering IT tools and PLM :

a. PLM deployment and maintenance :

- Establish a Global Design collaboration platform and process

- Parts data cleansing and classification to support standardization and platforming

- Integrate with Business operation IT system to improve operation efficiency

b. Enable Global Design by standardizing design tools and platform

c. Daily management of design tool and platform

d. Improving design efficiency by cutting-edge design tools and design intelligence
