Senior Manager Maintenance (Chemicals and Plastics)

You will be leading the maintenance department, overseeing strategy development, budget management, and team leadership to ensure efficient plant operations, minimize downtime, and maintain equipment and facility standards. Responsible for developing preventive maintenance programs, managing contractors, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and driving continuous improvement through data analysis and the implementation of new technologies. This role requires a strong technical background and significant experience in manufacturing, project management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies, schedules, and programs to optimize equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of maintenance professionals, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and providing opportunities for training and development.

- Manage the departmental budget, monitor expenditures, and ensure cost-effective operations.

- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all plant machinery, equipment, and facilities to the highest standards.

- Plan and oversee maintenance-related projects, including plant shutdowns, installations, and capacity expansion initiatives.

- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety regulations, and relevant industry standards.

- Coordinate with and manage external contractors and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for specialized services and spare parts

- Analyze maintenance data, identify areas for improvement, and implement initiatives to reduce downtime and enhance efficiency.

Qualification And Experience:

1. A bachelor's degree in mechanical or a related engineering field is typically required with 12 - 15 Years experience in the heavy manufacturing industry, with a significant portion at a managerial level, are essential.

2. Strong knowledge of equipment in chemical and plastics plants, including utilities like boilers, chillers, compressors, and electrical systems. Experience with PLC, SCADA, and drives is often a plus.

3. Excellent people management, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to coordinate effectively with diverse teams and other departments.

4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and improve process reliability.

5. Familiarity with Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 is beneficial.
