Senior Manager MEP (Mechanical)

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing execution of HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, vacuum, and other mechanical utility systems. This role demands deep expertise in mechanical project management, vendor coordination, utility commissioning, preventive maintenance readiness, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Mechanical Project Execution & Utility Integration

- Lead the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems, chillers, vacuum pumps, DG sets, and process gas systems.


- Ensure mechanical readiness of cleanroom and production areas in alignment with module and cell line process needs.


- Coordinate with design consultants and internal teams for layout finalization, MEP service routing, and clash resolution.


- Supervise erection, alignment, and commissioning of mechanical equipment and utility pipelines.

2. Planning, Monitoring & Documentation

- Develop project execution plans, schedules, and manpower/resource requirements.


- Monitor site progress, contractor performance, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.


- Prepare and review technical documentation including BOQs, test protocols, and mechanical handover packages.


- Coordinate with civil and electrical teams to ensure integrated MEP execution across all project phases.

3. Vendor & Contractor Coordination

- Evaluate and finalize vendors for mechanical equipment, piping, HVAC works, and support structures.


- Ensure timely procurement, delivery, and installation support from OEMs and vendors.


- Review contractor work quality, safety compliance, and manage billing/certification processes.

4. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure all mechanical installations are compliant with safety codes, fire safety norms, and regulatory requirements.


- Conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and enforce PPE and site safety protocols.


- Support statutory inspections and clearances related to mechanical works and utilities.

5. Team Supervision & Cross-functional Coordination

- Lead and guide the mechanical execution team comprising engineers, supervisors, and technicians.


- Interface with equipment, facility, automation, and production teams to ensure operational readiness of utilities.


- Drive project closeout activities including red-marked drawings, O&M manual handover, and snag closure.

Key Skills & Requirements

Experience:

Minimum 10 years in MEP Mechanical execution for industrial, solar, or manufacturing projects. Experience with cleanroom utilities and HVAC systems is preferred.

Technical Skills:

- Expertise in HVAC system design, installation, and commissioning including chilled water plants.


- Working knowledge of compressed air systems, vacuum lines, gas distribution, and mechanical utilities.


- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and utility load calculations.


- Familiarity with ASHRAE, ISHRAE, BIS standards, and safety protocols in plant environments.

Soft Skills:

- Strong leadership, site supervision, and team coordination skills.


- Effective communication and vendor negotiation abilities.


- Analytical mindset with a hands-on problem-solving approach.
