Senior Manager - Process/Machine Automation & Industrial Engineering (10-20 yrs)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for planning and implementation of construction related Automation initiatives for select styles
2. Collaborate with the relevant internal and external stake holders to ensure implementation of automation initiatives
3. Prepare MIS and reporting for Automation initiatives, as per procedure
Indicative Tasks:
1. Responsible for planning and implementation of construction related Automation initiatives for select styles
- Understand the operational process, SMV, SAH, requirements, special initiatives, etc. related to the assigned style or product
- Identify repetitive, less-productive and bottleneck operations and suggest simplified automated construction methods in collaboration with IE and Technical teams
- Create simplified designs and program automation solutions for the identified operations
- Prepare project execution plan along with the estimated project cost, ROI calculation for suggested improvement and obtain approval from the concerned functions like IE and Finance
- Simulate and test the automated process / machinery (for example, attachment, folder, etc) at the sample development stage and ensure the sustainable performance of the simplified automation for bulk production
- Ensure all the automation initiatives are completed as per the timelines and quality agreed upon
- Monitor the progress of the assigned automation initiative, including adherence to plan, execution of the improvement processes, business benefits realization, etc.
2. Collaborate with the relevant internal and external stake holders to ensure implementation of automation initiatives
- Work with concerned plant stake holders (for example, Plant IE, Technical & Quality, Engineering, VSM, etc.) for rolling out identified initiatives at the assigned plants (for example, minor process improvement, waste elimination, introduction of folder/ attachment)
- Coordinate with external supplier to the get the automation initiative completed as per the planned timeline and quality
- Ensure market competiveness by sharing partial packages with suppliers and ensuring assembly of the components in-house
- Collaborate with the IE stake holders across the SBU including shared project deliverables, replication of best practices, etc.
- Coordinate with respective internal / external teams for the facilitation of training programs to get the operators trained for production
- Work with functional consultants / subject matter experts/ suppliers for implementation of complex automation projects, including execution guidance, process audits, best practices deployment, etc.
3. Prepare MIS and reporting for Automation initiatives, as per procedure
- Participate in IE reviews (for example, progress reviews, IE functional reviews, SBU - E presentations), as per guidelines
- Prepare and present IE automation progress reporting to the SBU Senior stake holders, including implementation progress, benefits realization, timelines adherence, escalations, etc.
- Prepare periodic reports on the project progression and circulate reports about the same to the respective stakeholders
- Update MIS for IE Automation's functional initiatives, including training coverage, process audits, KPI implementation, best practices replication, etc.
- Ensure adherence to compliance requirements for all automation related functional initiatives, including project implementation, KPI reporting, supplier / customer relationships, etc.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Performance to plan (plan vs actual, budgeted efficiency, SAH, IE related downtime)
- Accuracy in Automation/ Construction of Simplified processes
- Savings due to Automation
- Operations KPIs (Achievement of PSD, OTD, planned SAH, Efficiency, Quick changeover KPIs)
- 3G Training (Multiskilling, Skill matrix maintenance)
