Senior Mechanical Designer (3-5 yrs)
Sr. Mechanical Designer
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Will have responsibility for design and development of Drivetrain systems and components, including gearbox, motor packaging
- Create models, drawings, and bills of material for all new products.
- Expert level knowledge to design of Drivetrain components such as castings, gears, splines, shaft & bearings
- Organise daily meeting with junior engineers.
- Analyze all gearbox components for strength and service life
- Prepare all product technical documents.
- Assist in the product testing to ensure product compliance.
- Aid in the assembly of prototypes and help train assembly personnel on all new products.
- Should have the ability to gather relevant data, synthesizes the data and identify relationships to predict failure modes.
- DFM with suppliers
Required Skills & Abilities :
- B Tech Degree
- 3+ years of experience in gear and/or gearbox design.
- Have good knowledge or background with metalworking and machining.
- Have strong working background in 3D modeling using SolidWorks. AutoCad a plus.
- Good understanding of FEA and GD&T.
- Understand basic metallurgy and- heat treatment processes of various metals.
- Basic knowledge of die and/or sand casting process.
- Hands-on experience using standard inspection equipment & gaging.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Have basic MS Office skills in Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
- Willing to travel occasionally if required.
