Service Engineer - Solar Products (4-10 yrs)
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Service Engineer/Senior Service Engineer to lead field- level service activities for solar modules, solar inverters (grid-tie, off-grid & Hybrid), batteries, UPS, and power electronics systems. The role requires strong troubleshooting expertise, customer handling capability, and the ability to mentor junior engineers while ensuring high system uptime and SLA adherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of solar PV and power electronics systems
- Handle breakdowns, repeat failures, critical site escalations and fault diagnosis at site
- Handle customer complaints, warranty claims, replacement coordination
- Provide advanced technical support to dealers, distributors, EPCs, and system integrators
- Guide and mentor junior service engineers and service partners
- Coordinate warranty claims, replacements, and spare parts planning
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Support sales and channel teams with pre-sales technical discussions and system design inputs
- Conduct technical training programs for channel partners and internal teams
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, quality norms, and company SOPs
- Maintain detailed service reports, failure analysis data, and escalation documentation
- Travel extensively within assigned region to support service operations
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in solar PV systems, grid-tie & off-grid inverters, batteries, and UPS
- Hands-on troubleshooting and fault-diagnostic capability
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, and system layouts
- Customer-facing communication and escalation-handling skills
- Leadership ability to guide and mentor service teams
- Willingness to travel extensively
