Solar Sales Engineer - Renewable Energy Industry (1-5 yrs)

The Job:

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation and Prospecting:

- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through field visits, cold calling, networking, and referrals.

- Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential customers by conducting thorough market research.

Client Consultation:

- Conduct site visits to assess the feasibility of solar installations and gather necessary data.

- Provide detailed consultations to clients, explaining the benefits of solar energy, system options, and the financial incentives available.

Sales Presentations:

- Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations to prospective clients.

- Use visual aids and technical data to support the value proposition of solar energy solutions.

Quoting and Proposals:

- Create accurate and competitive quotes and proposals based on client needs and site assessments.

- Present and explain proposals to clients, addressing any questions or concerns.

Negotiation and Closing Sales:

- Negotiate terms and conditions with clients to close sales effectively.

- Ensure contracts are signed and processed accurately and promptly.

Relationship Management:

- Build strong client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and generate repeat business.

- Provide after-sales support to address any issues or concerns and ensure the successful installation of solar systems.

Market and Industry Knowledge:

- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies in the solar energy sector.

- Share insights and updates with the sales team and management.

Reporting and Documentation:

- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales progress.

- Prepare regular reports on sales performance and market feedback for management.

Collaboration:

- Work closely with the installation and technical teams to ensure seamless project execution.

- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop effective sales materials and strategies.

Continuous Improvement:

- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance sales skills and industry knowledge.

- Provide feedback to improve products, services, and sales processes.

Ideal Candidate:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong negotiation and closing abilities.

- Ability to understand technical aspects of solar energy systems.

- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.

- Proficient in using CRM software and other sales tools.

- Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to client locations.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Electrical Engineering) or a related field is preferred.

Experience: Proven experience in sales, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry.
