Job Description :
- We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Dispatches and Distribution Manager to oversee and optimize the delivery and distribution operations of our company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the timely and efficient transportation of goods to customers and various locations. This role is crucial in ensuring our products reach their destination on time and in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Route Planning and Optimization : Develop efficient delivery routes, taking into account factors such as distance, traffic, and delivery time windows.
2. Fleet Management : Maintain and manage a fleet of delivery vehicles, ensuring they are well-maintained, properly serviced, and comply with safety regulations.
3. Team Management : Supervise and lead a team of drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse staff, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
4. Inventory Management : Oversee inventory levels and ensure accurate stock levels are maintained for timely order fulfillment.
5. Quality Control : Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure that products are handled and transported with care to prevent damage.
6. Customer Service : Handle customer inquiries and concerns related to deliveries, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
7. Cost Control : Monitor expenses related to distribution and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
8. Compliance : Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing the transportation and distribution of goods.
9. Reporting : Generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and distribution metrics, offering insights for continuous improvement.
10. Safety : Promote a culture of safety within the distribution team, conducting regular safety training and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Proven experience in dispatch and distribution management, ideally in a similar industry.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of logistics software and tools for route planning and inventory management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of safety regulations and compliance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred).
