Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Structural Design & Analysis:

- Perform structural design and analysis of steel and RCC structures for ash handling and coal handling systems, including transfer towers, trestles, conveyor galleries, silos, hoppers, and foundations.

- Conduct detailed calculations, load assessments, and stability checks as per IS codes, AISC, and other relevant standards.

- Ensure compliance with power plant and industrial project design requirements.

2. Software Applications:

- Utilise STAAD Pro for structural modelling, analysis, and optimisation.

- Use Autocad for preparing, reviewing, and modifying structural drawings and GA (General Arrangement) drawings.

- Use Excel for detailed calculations, BOQ preparation, and reporting.

3. Engineering Coordination & Detailing:

- Work closely with civil, mechanical, and electrical teams to ensure seamless integration of structures in EPC projects.

- Prepare and review design reports, drawings, and technical specifications.

- Coordinate with fabricators, contractors, and site teams for structural execution.

4. Codes & Standards Compliance:

- Ensure designs meet industry standards such as IS 800, IS 456, IS 1893, IS 13920, IS 875, AISC, BS, and other relevant codes.

- Conduct seismic and wind load assessments for power plant structures.

5. Project Execution & Support:

- Assist in structural erection planning, site issue resolution, and technical troubleshooting.

- Provide value engineering inputs to optimise structural solutions for cost-effectiveness.

- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and client discussions.

Key Skills & Attributes:

- Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles related to power plants and industrial structures.

- Hands-on experience in steel structure design, connection detailing, and foundation design.

- Proficiency in STAAD Pro, Autocad, and MS Excel for calculations and modelling.

- Understanding of fabrication, erection methods, and construction practices.

- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred candidate profile

- Prior experience in ash handling, coal handling, material handling systems, or power plant structures.

- Exposure to EPC projects with multidisciplinary coordination.

- Familiarity with fabrication drawings, connection design, and site support.
