Structural Engineer (5-10 yrs)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowledge - Liaise with individual Company Engineers to support their CPD or CPEng pathway
- Keep current with Government, Local Authority and Engineering/Construction requirements
- Investigate products, materials, construction methods and specifications and share your findings to ensure our designs meet current standards and best practice Compliance/Quality - Self-Review of structural jobs
- When reviewing projects maintain consistency between differing engineers
- Follow the Company internal processes for report preparation, presentation, and issue to client
- Use and develop the Company library and templates where applicable to ensure consistency in our design and documentation
- Complete Site Inspections reports (if required) in line with the Company designs and produce associated PS4s as required
Professional Relationships :
- Maintain effective professional relationships with Peers
- Maintain effective relationships with industry professionals and regulatory bodies to ensure we are aware of any changes to standards and requirements
- Liaise with area leader and project coordinator and agree on scope of job
- Chartered Professional Engineer or Washington Accord Civil Engineering
- Degree nearing CPEng
Experience - Working at Structural Engineer level in consultancy environment
Knowledge - Broad civil engineering understanding for Residential and Commercial requirements
- Deep understating of Structural Solutions using steel, timber, cold formed steel, and concrete using appropriate Codes of Practice.
Ability - Able to apply a wide range of engineering principles to perform variety of structural engineering solutions
- Able to advise on building standards, methods, tools, and applications
- Demonstrates ability to mentor and coach team members in own specialty
- Able to facilitate collaboration between stakeholders who have diverse objectives
Computer Proficiency :
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat
- Experienced user of Time/Cost systems such as WFM
- Experienced user of Design Software, E-TABS preferred
