JOB TITLE: Safety Health and Environment Subject Matter Expert.

LOCATION: Project Management sites at Odisha, Delhi NCR, Navi Mumbai and Bangalore for large multisite based Metal processing organization.

BUSINESS AREA / DEPARTMENT: Business Assurance - IME

Purpose of the role:

Must be a Subject Matter Expert in the following domain:

- Behaviour Safety

- Contractor Safety

- Road Safety

- Hazards area Working Standards

- Process Safety

As Subject Matter Expert of above mentioned domain you would must bring in:

a) Expert-level knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) life safety code, and 29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1910, General Industry, applicable for specific domain(s).

b) Expert-level knowledge of and experience with industrial hygiene and safety controls and the surveillance of related safety measures and requirements.

c) Expert-level knowledge of and experience with industrial hygiene/safety-related risk assessments and corrective actions in specific domain.

d) Expert-level knowledge of metal processing, protection policies, practices, and procedures, and federal, state, and local laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

e) Expert-level knowledge of common and unique work hazards, occupational safety practices, operating configuration, and lockout/tagout policies and practices in specific domain.

f) Expert-level knowledge of techniques and procedures for Health & Safety monitoring and sample analysis in specific domain.

g) Expert-level knowledge and skill in observing worksite procedures physical layouts, and in interviewing employees to gather information on operations, material used, and equipment that may result in illness, impairment, injury, or impact on the health of workers and/or members of the community.

h) Expert-level experience and skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions to problems affecting the domain.

i) Expert-level knowledge and skill in preparing written reports incorporating findings, risk assessments, and recommended corrective actions, as well as in establishing appropriate priorities for action using the risk assessment codes (RACs) and for documentation of the regulatory requirements.

j) Expert-level skill to communicate major, complex elements of industrial safety to technical and non-technical personnel.

k) Expert-level skills in the preparation and presentation of industrial safety technical reports.

l) Expert-level knowledge and ability to evaluate hazard controls (i.e., personal equipment (PPE), engineering controls, and work practices) and recommend improvements or new controls to eliminate or reduce hazards.

m) Expert-level knowledge and ability to evaluate exposure data to determine the extent or presence of actual of potential health hazards by comparing with appropriate standards (i.e., risk assessments).

n) Expert-level knowledge and ability to develop, review, and evaluate site-specific safety/ health programs and requirements in specific domain.

o) May require expert-level proficiency in leading development of, and conducting industrial/safety training programs in specific domain.

p) Expert-level knowledge of statistical analysis techniques (descriptive and inferential) for trend identification in specific domain.

q) Expert-level knowledge of office automation application (i.e., spreadsheets, graphics, database management, communication practices, the compliance tracking system.

r) Expert-level knowledge of the procurement process to incorporate health requirements into subcontract documents, evaluate subcontractor health and safety plans, and oversee subcontracted work in specific domain.

s) Expert-level knowledge and ability to review work plans, blueprints, specifications, and other documents to ensure the application of health standards for illness and injury prevention in the construction and modification of facilities.

t) Expert-level knowledge and skill in developing educational material and training techniques to promote awareness of health hazards and corresponding preventive procedures in specific domain.

u) May require expert-level knowledge and skill in providing related educational material for training and in conducting training via different media (i.e., oral presentations and posters).

v) Expert-level knowledge and ability to promote professional relationships between and among other Subject Matter Expert in other disciplines

w) Expert-level knowledge and ability to publicize and promote occupational Safety and health policies and regulations (i.e., PPE and work practices).

x) Expert-level knowledge of human performance, ESHQ improvement initiatives and compliance with same in specific domain.

1) Deliver program / projects as per defined timelines

2) Drive team to achieve project milestones and program implementation

3) Drive the solution thinking within the project team.

4) Manage client stakeholders in complex and intense consulting assignments

5) Drive Knowledge Management, mentor & develop young consultants.

Internal / External Relationships:

Maintain effective external facing relationships to enhance the brand value while exhibiting good stake-holder management.

Person Specification:

Competency Requirements Technical / Professional Expertise and Qualifications

- Experience in working with - C- level executive clients

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills

- Strong project planning and leadership

- Aspirational, persuasive and resilient - We are looking for individuals with at least a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing science and additional Safety qualifications like NIBOSH, RLI

- 20-25 years of experience with excellent understanding of Health & Safety requirements.

- Professionals from Metals & Mines/Industrial Products domain, with experience in Consulting companies in the above mentioned domain would be preferred.
