Subject Matter Expert - Valve & Pump Failure Specialist (10-12 yrs)

We are seeking a highly experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) liquefaction with deep specialization in diagnosing and resolving - valve and pump failure anomalies- . This role demands a strong foundation in LNG process systems, equipment reliability, and advanced failure analysis techniques to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Serve as the technical authority on - valve and pump failure diagnostics- within LNG liquefaction systems.

- Conduct - root cause analysis (RCA)- and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment failures.

- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to enhance equipment reliability.

- Develop and refine - predictive maintenance strategies- using AI-based anomaly detection systems.

- Lead technical reviews and provide recommendations for equipment upgrades and replacements.

- Support commissioning and troubleshooting activities for new installations and retrofits.

- Document findings and create knowledge assets to support continuous improvement.

- Ensure compliance with - safety standards-, - industry codes-, and - best practices- in cryogenic environments.

Required Technical Expertise

Valve Failure Modes:

- Seal Leakage

- Sticking or Jamming

- Actuator Failure

- Cryogenic Material Fatigue

- Erosion and Corrosion

Pump Failure Modes:

- Cavitation

- Seal Failure

- Bearing Wear

- Impeller Damage

- Motor or Drive Failure

- Vibration and Misalignment

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in - Mechanical Engineering- or - Chemical Engineering- .

- Minimum - 10 years of experience- in LNG liquefaction operations, maintenance, or engineering.

- Proven track record in - valve and pump failure analysis-, especially in - cryogenic environments- .

- Familiarity with - AI/ML-based anomaly detection systems- and their application in reliability engineering.

- Strong understanding of - LNG process systems-, - equipment design-, and - failure mechanisms- .

- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Attributes

- Certification in Reliability Engineering (e.g., CRE, CMRT)

- Experience with digital twins or smart maintenance platforms

- Exposure to international LNG projects or multi-site operations

- Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead cross-functional teams
