Profile - Substation Engineer - 220 kV
Qualification - B.Tech/ B.E - Electrical
Experience - Min. 4-8 years of experience in HV substation design, erection, and commissioning (preferably in renewable EPC projects).- Strong knowledge of protection systems, grid compliance, and HV equipment.- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar electrical design software.
Salary - Upto 10 LPA CTC

Role Purpose:
The 220 kV Substation Engineer will be responsible for the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of high-voltage substations that evacuate power from solar, wind, and hybrid projects. The role requires expertise in HV equipment, grid compliance, and coordination with utilities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient grid connectivity.
Job Responsibilities:
Design & Engineering:
- Prepare detailed substation layouts, equipment specifications, and single line diagrams (SLDs).
- Design protection schemes, earthing systems, and auxiliary power arrangements.
- Conduct load flow, short-circuit, and fault level studies for substations.
Installation & Commissioning:
- Supervise erection of transformers, circuit breakers, isolators, CT/PT, busbars, and surge arresters.
- Oversee cabling, control room setup, and SCADA integration.
- Conduct insulation resistance, HV testing, relay calibration, and functional checks.
- Lead energization and synchronization with the grid.
Compliance & Coordination:
- Ensure adherence to CEA regulations, IEC/IS standards, and utility grid codes.
- Coordinate with state transmission utilities and load dispatch centers for approvals.
- Prepare documentation for grid connectivity and statutory clearances.
