Job purpose

The candidate will be responsible for Heading Testing and Validation lab department for all products. This position is to manage the Validation Engineering group within the Engineering Department to maintain highly reliable and compliant process for products like Cells, Battery packs, Charging and swap system, lab equipment and automation systems.

Role / Job Description

- Lead the development and execution of events to enable the capture and evaluation of objective evidence to ensure that specific requirements have been fulfilled and that specific requirements for a specified intended use have been fulfilled. Events should leverage best practices with regard to the type of event: demonstration, modeling and simulation, test, trial, etc.

- Consults with management, assesses customer requirements, and studies product characteristics to select validation objectives and standards.

- Prepares protocols for validation or performance testing of new or modified manufacturing equipment, processes, or systems.

- Analyzes data from validation tests to determine whether systems and processes meet required criteria and specifications.

- Collaborates and coordinates with appropriate departments and staff regarding the scheduling or implementation of validation testing.

- Identifies root causes of testing and production problems.

- Establishes testing and validation processes for products, including identification of regression test cases and optimization of testing process.

- Derives test cases from Field failures

- Identifies nonconformities of product or process standard and offers recommendations for resolving deviations.

- Develops and maintains databases for tracking test results, validation activities, or validated systems.

- Develops, maintains, or reviews validation and compliance documentation including schematics, protocols, and engineering change notices.

- Modifies testing methods or revisits test objectives and standards to resolve testing problems.

- Calibrates equipment to ensure accurate measurements.

- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Developing strategic vision and long-term objectives for department, and support development of strategies for Global Engineering functions.

General Requirements

Planning:

- To Plan for the coming year in T&V field like setting goals, objectives of goals, how we plan to achieve them and by whom, Support required by teammates and different departments.

- To plan for new projects coming through - resource, budget, targets, approvals etc.

Organizing:

To put together direct and indirect resources for the planning done like people, support from inter-department, machine power, incentives for tight target deadlines, training for existing staff to handle situations.

Review & Control:

. Daily review with direct reports on daily tasks and projects handled, weekly and monthly reviews with action plan for problems being faced.

. Monitor set targets month on month and review with team for improvements

. Quarterly review with team for monitoring the progress, then mid-year review to understand where we stand, and any new goals added in between to be regularized.

. Monitor objective / goal progress and seek help from team in case needed

Skills and Qualifications

. Experience: Minimum 15-25 years working experience in Testing and Validation department.

. Education: BE / ME / Masters in Automobile, E&E engineering

. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

. Excellent interpersonal skills.

. Thorough understanding of industry standards and regulatory guidelines.

. Thorough understanding of applicable mathematics and scientific practices.

. Thorough understanding of related equipment and the ability to perform equipment modifications.

. Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex problems, then propose Solutions or recommendations providing the best solution as quickly as possible to complex problems

. Strong attention to detail

. A proactive and open-minded attitude to resolving problems and delivering results

. Passion to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

. Must have experience with Microsoft office tools such as Excel, word, power point, email.

. Good team work and work skills

. Passion for electric vehicles, new technology, and making a difference.
