About the Role:

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer - Plastic Commodity to ensure that all plastic parts and assemblies sourced from vendors meet the highest quality standards. This role involves close collaboration with suppliers, internal teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive quality excellence, resolve issues, and support new product development.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Quality Management

- Ensure supplier compliance with quality standards and processes

- Conduct supplier audits and track corrective actions

- Monitor supplier performance using KPIs (quality, delivery, defects)

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement:

- Handle customer complaints related to supplier parts

- Apply quality tools (8D, Why-Why, FMEA, SPC, etc.) for root cause analysis

- Drive supplier improvement initiatives

New Product Development (NPD):

- Ensure quality requirements for new products are met

- Manage PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and sample approvals

Data Analysis & Reporting:

- Analyze quality data using Excel, Power BI, Minitab

- Prepare MIS reports and dashboards for supplier performance

Process & System Management:

- Standardize processes like molding, extrusion, painting, packaging

- Support digital initiatives (SAP QM, vendor portals, dashboards)

- Ensure compliance with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001)

Travel:

- 40- 50% travel for supplier audits, inspections, and issue resolution

Skills Required:

Technical Skills:

- Strong knowledge of plastic molding, extrusion, testing, and validation

- Expertise in quality tools: 7QC, 5S, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, Poka-Yoke, 8D

- Understanding of SPC/SQC and measurement systems

- Exposure to manufacturing processes (welding, coating, stamping, packaging)

Soft Skills:

- Strong communication and stakeholder management

- Analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset

- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence teams

- High attention to detail
