System Engineering/Electrical System Professional (5-8 yrs)

Position Summary

Incumbent will be responsible developing solutions to complex technical problems of wide scope. He/she has demonstrated good use and/or application of technical principles, theories, and concepts. Work is loosely supervised. Incumbent is provided technical guidance but is expected to derive specific, detailed instructions to complete the task. Performs assignments designed to develop professional engineering work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks.

Principal Responsibilities

- Develop requirements, specifications, test, troubleshoot, and certify core avionics/electrical systems functions, e.g. EFIS (Electronic Flight Information System), Crew Alerting, TAWS, TCAS (including ADS-B out and in), AFCS, Radio Altimeter, AHRS, Air Data, FDR/CVR, Flight Management System & Datalink (including ACARS and CPDLC).

- Author certification documents including certification plans, development test plans and reports, certification test plans and reports, and compliance documents for aircraft avionics and/or electrical systems.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to understand functionality and author aircraft and system-level requirements and specification documents

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES : 

- Demonstrated experience with design and development of electrical/electronic systems.

- Knowledge of certification, safety requirements and demonstrated DfC (Design for certification), DfS (Design for Safety) experience to meet certification and safety needs

- Hands-on Experience with Garmin, Rockwell Collins, and/or Honeywell avionics systems is preferred.

- Experience with minimum performance standards and Advisory Circulars is desired.

- Experience with EWIS 25.17xx design and certification requirements is desired.

- Knowledge of CFR 14 Part 23 and/or CFR 14 Part 25 is preferred

Education- BE/BTECH ME/MTECH

Stream - Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering

Work Experience (in years)- At least 6-8 years of experience with minimum 2 years in Electrical/Electronic product development.
