Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Team Lead - Hardware Design to lead our hardware engineering team focused on developing metering and instrumentation devices integrated with IoT and networking capabilities. You will be responsible for driving innovative hardware designs, ensuring product quality, and leading your team through the entire product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of hardware engineers in the design, development, and validation of metering and instrumentation hardware products integrated with IoT and networking technologies.
- Architect and oversee the design of analog and digital circuits, including precision measurement, sensor interfacing, and signal conditioning.
- Manage PCB design/layout processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards for metering/instrumentation accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with firmware, software, and system teams to deliver end-to-end solutions that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Drive hardware prototyping, testing, calibration, and validation activities.
- Ensure designs meet strict requirements for power consumption, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), environmental ruggedness, and safety.
- Guide your team in selecting components, materials, and technologies suitable for metering and instrumentation applications.
- Lead design reviews, troubleshoot complex hardware issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Interface with manufacturing and quality teams to support production ramp-up, DFM, and product lifecycle management.
- Stay current with emerging trends in metering, instrumentation, IoT connectivity protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous learning within your team.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
- 8 to 12 years of hardware design experience, with a strong focus on metering, instrumentation, or precision measurement devices.
- Proven leadership experience managing hardware engineering teams.
- Deep expertise in analog/digital circuit design, sensor integration, and PCB layout (tools like Altium, Cadence, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of IoT and networking protocols relevant to metering solutions (e.g., LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, Ethernet).
- Experience with low-power design, signal conditioning, calibration techniques, and EMC/EMI compliance.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards and certifications applicable to metering and instrumentation devices.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment balancing innovation with compliance and quality.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in smart grid, energy metering, industrial instrumentation, or utility automation domains.
- Knowledge of embedded system design and firmware collaboration.
