We are hiring a M.Tech - Electrical Engineer for World Bank funding Transmission Line Project.

Position: Team Leader - Electrical Engineer

Project: Transmission Line & Substation (SS) Projects

Project Duration: 5 Years

Location: Kathmandu, Nepal

Educational Qualification: M.Tech in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems / Electrical Engineering)

Experience: Minimum 15+ years in Transmission Line and Substation projects.

Job Role:

The Team Leader - Electrical Engineer will be responsible for overall Technical leadership, Planning, Coordination, and execution of High-voltage Transmission line and Substation works under a World Bank- funded infrastructure project. The role involves ensuring compliance with international standards, Quality, Safety, and Timely project deliver


Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Leadership & Management:

- Act as the Team Leader and primary technical authority for the transmission line and substation components of the project.

- Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team including design, construction, QA/QC, and supervision engineers.

- Interface with the Client, World Bank representatives, contractors, and government authorities.

2. Technical Oversight:

- Review and approve Designs, Drawings, Technical specifications, and BOQs for Transmission lines and substations.

- Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, World Bank, and local Nepal standards.

- Provide technical guidance on HV/EHV Transmission line routing, Tower foundations, Stringing, Sag & Tension, and Substation layout.

3. Construction Supervision:

- Oversee construction activities for transmission lines and substations to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to approved designs.

- Monitor contractor performance, construction methodology, and resource deployment.

- Resolve technical issues arising during execution and commissioning.

4. Quality, Safety & Compliance:

- Ensure implementation of Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) systems.

- Enforce HSE standards in line with World Bank Environmental & Social Framework (ESF).

- Ensure compliance with contractual, environmental, and social safeguard requirements.

5. Contract Administration & Reporting:

- Support contract administration, claims evaluation, variation orders, and dispute resolution

- Review progress reports, method statements, and work schedules

- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and milestone reports to the Client and World Bank

Key Skills & Competencies:

- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

- In-depth knowledge of HV/EHV transmission line and substation engineering.

- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.

- Proficiency in engineering tools, project management software, and technical documentation.
