Technical Program Manager - Instrumentation/Electrical & Electronics Engineering (11-18 yrs)

This is a role for a MNC in Aerospace, Industrial Automation cost reduction initiative be performing Competitive Benchmarking, System Architect decoding, Value Analysis, Value Engineering & Cost worth gap analysis on diversified Products portfolio.

- Employee should be able to work independently & deliver results on time. This role calls for coordination with cross functional teams- world Wide (Design, Procurement, Marketing, etc- ) starting form identifying the project, till implementing. 


- Involve in Product strategy (Design & Cost) for NPI and existing HON products through competitive benchmarking, technology landscaping & Should cost with focusing on Electrical and Electronics parts/assemblies.

- Demonstrate subject matter expertise in respective disciplines and act as a coach to cross functional teams.

Job Responsibility :

- Execute competitor product benchmarking activities with reference to products to understand the overall functionalities and capabilities of the competitor products across a Broad spectrum of Industries and technologies.

- Identifying Unique Hardware, design features, technology and any special manufacturing techniques employed.

- Identify the Novel and unique design aspects related to Performance, Thermal, Reliability, DFX, User Experience, EMI/EMC and product packaging that contribute to lower costs and higher manufacturing throughput.

- Perform physical Test and Benchmarking of Products, while also performing Competitive Intelligence gathering.

- Create a Test set-up to test / evaluate the competitor product, Identify the test cases/performance evaluation criteria.

- Trigger Cost reduction and Product Improvement Ideas

- Generate quick PoCs, Simulations for proposed Ideas

- Analyze product design and architecture. Generate the Learning Opportunities/findings from every Benchmarking opportunity.

- Execute the elements of the CB charter (program scope/deliverables/schedule).

- Propose economic alternatives for HON design and suggest trade-offs.

- Recommend product improvements to enable technology leadership

- Generate the Learning Opportunities/findings from every CB teardown.

- Closely work with CB program Leader to maximize IMPACT of CB findings on HON product (Design/Cost), Manufacturing practices, M&A and IP enforcement opportunities, supply chain strategies

- Identify the test cases/performance evaluation criteria

- Execute teardown programs to cover Product Assembly & Dis-assembly sequence, Bill of Material (BoM) listing, Schematic extraction & photographs, specifications, functional block diagrams, Material Analysis & BoM cost

- Identify good features/engineering observations of the competitor product (wrt use & purpose of the product) covering aspects of design, specifications, HUE, feature/functionality/performance, supply chain etc that can be considered for HON products

- Contribution to talent identification & developing technical capabilities within the team.

Basic Qualifications :

- BE/BTech/ME/MTech - EEE (Electrical & Electronics Engineering) or Instrumentation

- 11- 18 Years of professional experience in Hardware design and development & strong systems engineering experience.

- Should have executed NPI programs of electrical & electronic products from "Concept to Launch to After-Sales support".

- Should have been involved in design reviews/evaluation of electrical & electronic products.

- Exposure to mechanical products is desirable.

- Strong understanding & working experience in Microcontroller/Microprocessor based Product Design, Analog and digital circuit designing, PCB designing, EMI EMC testing and troubleshooting and performing PSPICE simulations.

- Proven practical experience in the Analysis / Troubleshooting of electrical/electronic products

- Commercial/ Business acumen to understand techno-commercial aspects of costing/competitive benchmarking, articulate impact & convince key stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience in Embedded product design and development

- Experience in NPI Product Design life cycle environment and processes

- Knowledge of Electronic Semiconductor devices, Components and Test Systems

- Exposure to a Wide breadth of Hardware technologies ranging from Power, Analog, Memories, Communication protocols & Interfaces, Digital, RF and Processor based designs.

- Exposure to product reliability, thermal management, certifications

- Good knowledge in PCB fabrication, assembly and manufacturing process

- Experience in using simulation tools like Mentor graphics/Pspice

- Exposure to using VE methodologies like FAST and TRIZ techniques

- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills

- Initiative, Problem solving, Persuasive & positive thinking

- Knowledge of communication protocols, interfaces & RF/Wireless systems

- Knowledge of Testing life cycles, testing strategies, testing tools & test system designs (test rigs)
