Tool Design Engineer - Manufacturing Firm (1-4 yrs)

Role : Tool Design Engineer

Experience : 0 to 3 years

Location : Hyderabad

Responsibilities :

1. Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for tools, jigs, and fixtures based on manufacturing requirements.

2. Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software to create 2D and 3D models of tools.

3. Ensure that tools are designed for optimal functionality, efficiency, and safety.

4. Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to understand their needs and requirements.

5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance and maintenance, to ensure tool designs meet industry standards and regulations.

6. Create prototypes of tools and fixtures for testing and evaluation.

7. Conduct testing to ensure the functionality, durability, and safety of tools.

8. Analyse test results and modify designs as necessary.

9. Conduct cost analysis for tool design projects, considering materials, manufacturing processes, and labour.

10. Optimize designs to meet cost targets without compromising quality or performance.

11. Prepare comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, reports, and manuals.

12. Maintain accurate records of design changes, test results, and project timelines.

13. Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements in tooling technology, and manufacturing processes.

14. Implement improvements to existing tools and processes for increased efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications and Skills :

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

2. Proven experience in tool design, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

3. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for designing tools.

4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

6. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.

7. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
