Warehouse Incharge - Garment Industry (4-10 yrs)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Warehouse Operations Management:
- Supervise day-to-day warehouse activities including receiving, storage, inventory management, order picking, packing, and shipping of garments.
- Ensure all operations are conducted in an efficient, cost-effective, and safe manner.
- Oversee the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse to optimize workflow and ensure safety standards are met.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse activities.
2. Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory, ensuring stock levels are regularly checked and updated.
- Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies in the inventory.
- Ensure proper storage methods for different types of garments (e.g., folded, hung, packed).
- Coordinate with the purchasing team to track and manage stock levels, ensuring that garment materials are available when needed.
3. Staff Supervision & Training:
- Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of warehouse workers, ensuring high levels of productivity and engagement.
- Hire, train, and develop warehouse staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable about processes, systems, and safety protocols.
- Schedule and allocate tasks to warehouse staff to ensure timely order fulfillment and deliveries.
4. Logistics and Distribution Coordination:
- Work closely with the distribution team to ensure timely and accurate shipments of finished garments to retailers or customers.
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring correct documentation, tracking, and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with the transportation team to optimize routes and reduce shipping costs.
5. Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all warehouse operations adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety standards, ensuring a safe work environment for all warehouse personnel.
- Implement warehouse safety protocols and provide staff with necessary safety training.
6. Technology and Reporting:
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software to track, manage, and report on stock movements.
- Generate reports on inventory status, order fulfillment, and warehouse efficiency for senior management.
- Analyze operational performance to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
7. Quality Control:
- Ensure that garments are handled and stored in a way that maintains product quality and prevents damage.
- Monitor the quality of incoming raw materials and finished garments during the receiving and packing stages.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse management, preferably within the garment or textile industry.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics.
- Experience with warehouse management software (WMS) and other inventory control systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance in warehouse settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the warehouse for extended periods.
- Capability to work in a fast-paced environment.
