Welder - Maintenance Services (3-12 yrs)
Candidates Qualification - 10th, 12th ITI Fitter Electrician, Welder, Mechanical Trainee Required.
Should have at least 3+ year of work experience as a Welder
Job description
- Carryout the welding of the parts / components as directed by the maintenance fitter or the maintenance engineer
- Respond to emergencies, escalate major breakdowns to the mechanical maintenance engineer and manage the emergency to the best of ability
- Ensure the usage of appropriate tools and PPEs relevant for the welding activity undertaken and ensure that the equipment and tools are properly calibrated before using
- Carry out the welding work in a healthy and safe working environment and ensure that the workplace hazards are identified, eliminated / reduced and the risks assessed by the superiors before carrying out the work
- Ensure that the equipment is isolated/de- energized and proper handover is taken from the Plant before commencing any maintenance related welding work
- Ensure appropriate handover of equipment to the Plant post maintenance work completion; monitor and observe the performance and working of the equipment handed over and check for any abnormalities
- Keep track of the welding consumables inventory and inform the mechanical maintenance engineer and the stores to replenish the stocks
- Maintain housekeeping standards, especially post job completion, and ensure that all tools / instruments are stored properly
- Identify hazards, conduct safety and near-miss observations and instruct technicians on safety procedures and standards to be followed; ensure safety reporting at the end of the shift
- Effectively transition to other shifts and provide shift reporting at the end of the shift, including making entries in the logbook
