Job Description :
Technical Knowledge :
- Knowledge about the ferrous foundry process.
- Knowledge about the induction melting process.
- Knowledge about core making, jolt & squeeze/high-pressure sand cast molding process. Knowledge of casting tooling, and pattern maintenance.
- Knowledge of various metals and metallurgical aspects.
- Knowledge about the foundry equipment like furnaces, sand plants, and molding machines. Knowledge about casting defects, their causes & remedies.
- Daily review of DQSPC i.e.
- Delivery(daily fill rate),Quality(rejections),Safety(closure of NCR's), Productivity(daily productivity against designed productivity),Cost(direct operational cost) Moral of employee, HR ( Admin & IR )
Responsibility for solving all daily operational issues :
- Should monitor daily plant performance and seek to find gaps in performance.
- Counsel and direct the PGOs/Line owners as necessary.
- To effectively deploy departmental goals in consultation with the Plant manager.
- At frequent intervals arrive to specific action plans based on the performance of staff under him with respect to individual KRA's, Safety/EHS
- Ensuring adherence & monitoring of all safety rules and regulations as per policy on the shop floor.
- Capture safety proactive opportunities and implement suggestions & update safety officer Accident-free days-Effective implementation of 5S / EHS through awareness to operators & team members with provision of resources in case of an accident, analyze the cause, identify corrective & preventive measures with the help of the production mgr & report the accident as per the system to the safety officer.
Quality :
- Ensure adherence to SOP, record rejection/ rework, participate in Quality related meetings, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure the process is running as per process specifications, and process abnormalities highlighted through various audits have been taken care of. Identify the action to improve quality by reducing variations/ Lot hold
- Ensure the Defect rates are well within the control as per benchmarked.
- Ensure the lot hold due to quality-related issues are taken care of to reduce the lot hold rate Active participation in the lean sigma initiative & drive the process with the help of the Locational KPO/ Production Manager.
