Zonal Project Head - Construction (10-15 yrs)

ROLLS AND RESPONSIBILITY

- Overseeing the progress and preparing specification of the project, ensuring that the specifications to cover the requirements of management and client, reviewing progress and liaising with contractors, architects and consultant to monitor costs and progress

- Liaising with the client, other construction professionals and, sometimes, members of the management for better progress and quality of work

- Coordinating and supervising construction workers

- Selecting contractors and construction materials

- Making safety inspections and ensuring construction and site safety

- Checking and preparing site reports, designs and drawings

- Checking and certifying contractors bill

- Maintaining quality control procedures

- Finding ways to prevent problems and to solve any that crop up

- Assessing and minimizing risk

As Group Head - Projects, He shall be prepared to relocate or face a longer commute as and when required.

- Other project management activities involving day-to-day work planning, monitoring preventive actions

- Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.

- Develop full - scale project plans and associated communications documents.

- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a timely and clear.

- Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve the project goals.

- Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.

- Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.

- Set and continually manage project expectations with team members.

- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.

- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.

- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.

- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.

- Track project milestones and deliverables.

- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations

- Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.

- Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

- Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

- Direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.

- Strong familiarity with project management software.

- Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem - solving capabilities.

- Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.

- Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills.

- The incumbent will be responsible for preparation of master schedules of projects.

- Prepare micro planning for project.

- Monitor progress of all the projects.

- Monitor and control budget & cost.

- Monitor deviation in progress and cost against schedule.

- Analyze the impact of deviations work out action plan to avoid, absorb or minimize the impact.

- Guide planning/ scheduling engineers of different projects for planning, scheduling and monitoring activities.

- Coordinates with concerned Project Controllers for overall planning of the respective projects.

- Must be a Graduate Civil Engineer and MBA with minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the construction sector.

- Must have working experience in hydro project execution.

- Must be proficient in Project Management software like Primavera or Microsoft Project.

- Good working knowledge of design, procurement and construction workflow process and documentation is essential.

- Candidate having experience as Project Manager in any hydro project will be given preference.

- Exposure in EPC contracts is desirable.

- Directing, evaluation of project and presenting cost and benefits analysis at project decision points for construction of residential/commercial complex, utility & infrastructure.

- Finalizing requirements and specifications in consultation with senior management and clients as well as project scheduling including material & manpower planning.

- Anchoring on-site construction activities to ensure completion of project within the time & cost parameters and effective resource utilization to maximize the output.

- Monitoring the preparation of tender drawings&specifications and finalization of requirements, estimates & BOQ

- Overseeing all construction activities including providing technical inputs of methodologies of construction and coordination for site management activities.

- Preparing and reviewing method statements and work specific quality control plans as per specifications of contract document.

- Implementation of all statuary compliances related to HSE as defined by regulatory authorities under all applicable labor laws etc., and ensure safe and healthy environment for all project personnel

- Budget preparation and control.

- Site administration/compliances - Ensure all licenses/No objection certificates (NOC's) from government agencies are in place throughout the project life-cycle, liaison with local authorities.
